Christine Wiederkehr

Christine, born in 1978 and raised in Biel, now lives in Zurich. After graduating from the Deutsch-Französischen Gymnasium, she worked for a year at Swatch in marketing before beginning her film studies in Lausanne. Here she studied at the École Cantonale d ́Art de Lausanne from 1999 to 2001. This was followed by studies at the Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK), which she completed with a diploma. Her graduation film "Floh!" was shown at various film festivals, on Swiss television, and 3sat. It won the ZHdK Förderpreis, the German Young Talent Award First Steps Award in Berlin, and made it to the shortlist of the Student Academy Awards.
Starting in 2007 Christine has been working as a director for commercials. Since then she has won several nominations and awards, including EDI, ADC, and Cannes Young Directors Award. In 2014 she won the SRF Treatment Award for best treatment at the Zurich Film Festival, and in 2017 she received a scholarship from the SSA (société suisse des auteurs). 
Christine's passion is telling emotional stories through powerful images. A passion that, beyond a doubt, belongs in the portfolio of Rocket Film.
