Kim was born in Cape Town in 1964 and found his passion for storytelling as a teenager while working in theatre.
After several years behind the camera as a fashion photographer, he finally turned to film in order to fully realise his love of imagery.
His fascination with portraying intimacy is evident in his stories. Kim has mastered the art of telling powerful stories with just a few images.
With his detailed concepts, Kim has gained international attention and is regularly honoured for his work at prestigious award ceremonies such as Cannes, Clios, LIA'S and D&AD.
